sadly safe, in training (traurig sicher, im Training)
Vernissage

Certain moths scare away potential predators with their repulsive colours. They are too ugly to be tasty. So they fly safely through the night. “Sadly safe”, as Thomas Mann describes them.
The “sadly safe” exhibition, already on show at Palais Thienfeld, the new base of Kunstverein as of next year, deals with the losses and side-effects that go hand in hand with the social production of safety: what are the functions of public and private discourses on safety and potential threats in the everyday production of reality? What is their role in implementing political and economic objectives? What are we training for?
